The Food and Drink Federation is strongly encouraging all food and drink businesses to take the time to respond to the latest GCA survey (open now, ) to ensure your views are heard. All the more reason to have a strong GCA, that's properly resourced, to support the interests of suppliers and UK shoppers. It's essential for our #foodsecurity and our #economy that we have healthy and resilient supply chains where retailers engage constructively with suppliers, otherwise we'll all suffer when choice is impacted. One day Alex is told that his uncle has died in a car crash. Ian is supposedly a bank manager and is, much to Alexs regret, often away from home. Our members, and particularly #SMEs, tell us that this is absolutely the case - and that there's no room for unjustified price rises anyway when they must provide retailers with clear evidence (and, even then, they don't always get what they need). Synopsis Alex Rider (Alex Pettyfer) is a fourteen year-old orphan who lives with his uncle Ian Rider (Ewan McGregor) and their housekeeper Jack Starbright (Alicia Silverstone).
ALEX RIDER 2 MOVIE CODE
It was good to hear Mark White at the Groceries Code Adjudicator on BBC News R4 this morning saying that he had not seen suppliers using inflation to boost their profits. Actually, these scenes have been filmed around the town of Sinaia, in Prahova County. But the location of the shooting is in fact quite different from the setting given in the story. It's sobering too to see the latest Begbies Traynor Group Red Flag alert report, published today, registering a 36% increase in the number of companies (across all sectors) rated as being in “critical financial distress”. In the first season of the series, Alex is a student in Point Blanc Academy located on the French Alps, the highest and most extensive mountain ranges in the world. Unable to pass all their costs on, some companies are struggling to make ends meet - and this is evidenced in the rate of food and drink business failures that we saw in 2022, which look to have doubled on the rate in 2019. But they've faced huge rises over the past 18 months in #energy, ingredient, packaging, transport, labour and borrowing costs as #inflation - driven by #covid19, the #warinukraine, #brexit costs and #extremeweather - has bitten. Producers are very mindful of the responsibility they have, alongside others, to keep food and drink affordable (and note that it's retailers that set prices, not suppliers).

The Secret Service sends Alex to deal with the man behind his uncle’s death, who is plotting the demise of millions of British school children.
ALEX RIDER 2 MOVIE MOVIE
As the movie opens, Alexs uncle is killed. But the debate has touched a nerve.īecause #CPIs aren't about profits, they're about survival. Alex Pettyfer plays Alex Rider, an athletic 14-year-old boy raised by his uncle, who, unknown to Alex, is a British secret agent.

Clearly there are a wide range of contracts and relationships that operate between food and drink producers and retailers, and our members know these have been tested significantly in the past year as they've gone to retailers for more #CPIs than anyone can ever remember. I've had a lot of feedback from The Food and Drink Federation's members on this topic in the past 24 hours or so.
